When I don't get my way

I have found that most of the anxiety and stress in my life is a direct result of me simply not getting my way. I believe most of us are predisposed to wanting others to react a certain way when we tell them something or if we do this we want that to happen. Where I get in trouble is when I invest so much emotion into the outcome I've already envisioned.

What I've learned is that apparently not everything is supposed to go my way...who knew??? They say that if you want your outside world to change, you have to change inside. Recently, I've shifted my energies to focusing more on the process rather than on the way people should react or how events should unfold. What I've found is that I'm not only more invested in the process, I'm actually enjoying it more. And the more that I practice this, the less and less I've been attached to the outcome.

While talking to a friend yesterday about this subject, I realized that it's been awhile since my upper back has developed its weekly knots. Coincidence? Hmm, you be the judge.
